Technomedia, Mood Media’s specialized creative brand, recently completed a major integrated audiovisual installation at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla. The stadium, regularly used by the Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats and several area high school football teams, seats 10,000 spectators and hosted this year’s National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics football championship.

Through the cooperation of Technomedia (AV consultant), FredTV (architect), Central Signs and CK Integration, the multifaceted installation was completed before the NAIA Championship game day on December 19. The objective of the upgrade was to enhance every game day experience with high-performance audio visual systems and advanced show technologies.

The installation includes a high-resolution Mood Technologies LED video display and scoreboard, as well as complete rewiring of the stadium’s public address system, supplemental stadium sound and video broadcast systems. The team also designed and installed a comprehensive broadcast control room for all video and audio equipment integrated into the stadium. Thirteen camera locations around the stadium were also integrated into the existing overall video and audio system.

“The upgrades have definitely improved the game experience for fans. The LED screen adds an interactive and dynamic visual element that Municipal Stadium has not had before, and all of the audio and video equipment around the stadium has really taken our broadcasting abilities up a notch. We’re thrilled with the results, and I think we have truly enhanced this valuable community asset,” said Percy Williamson, the city’s director of leisure services.

“This was a wonderful project to end the year with and have one of our newer talented studios manage from top to bottom. Working with FredTV, Central Signs and CK Integration was a total pleasure,” said Technomedia’s VP of Business Development Chris Chuilli. ”Being a part of bringing the city together around local sports programs and making that a more enjoyable experience are the kinds of projects that mean a lot to our team.”

Municipal Stadium also will hold the NAIA Championship games in 2015 and 2016, thanks to a contract signed between the City of Daytona Beach and NAIA. The games are expected to bring more than $1 million each to the local economy.
